SITE TIPS
Some have
complained that people who use sites defensively are being "weak" because
they cannot build a good defense without them. This is my reply: Why
I Use Sites
Using and
Preparing to Face Lost Soul Sites
Most good
brigades can stand alone if you have a complete collection of cards from
that brigade (green being the glaring exception). But that leaves you with access to only one color of
site. The main benefits to having 2 brigades
is getting around cards like Bear and Frog Demons which are immune to
entire brigades, and for having access to twice as many sites. For
Type 1 decks, I recommend that the number of brigades in your deck plus
the number of multi-colored access sites equals 4. Thus, a
single-brigade deck needs all 3: New Jerusalem, DragonRaid, and Promised
Land. A 2-brigade deck can usually survive with only DragonRaid and
Promised Land. A 3-brigade deck (or more) should allow you to survive with
only a DragonRaid. This can be modified if you use a lot of
single colored sites which can be used for access, or if you have a lot of
other cards giving you access to sites.
Let's look at how the good
brigades handle sites:
Red
-
Recruiting Officer has
access to any site, and gives you an extra lost soul to rescue if he
is defeated.
-
Rahab has access to any
site where a hero is being held prisoner
-
Ambush gives a male hero
access to any site for one battle
-
Wall's Collapse discards a
single color lost soul site and all evil cards guarding it.
Gold
-
Joshua takes over
opponent's sites
-
Joshua can use Promised
Land without limit
-
Joshua's Spear gives access
to any site.
-
Vengeance of Eternal Fire
discards 2 sites
-
Joshua Burns the City
discards a single color lost soul site and all evil cards guarding it.
Green
-
King Asa has access to any
site
-
Caleb uses opponent's site
for access
-
Paladin has access to gold
sites
-
Edge of the Sword discards
one site
Blue
-
King Joash has access to
any O.T. site
-
Abraham and Jacob may use
Promised Land without limit
-
Abraham negates the ability
of the Lost Soul that can be held in an occupied site.
-
Journey to Egypt gives one
hero access to any site until discarded or shuffled.
-
Jacob's Dream takes one of
opponent's sites
-
Sound the Trumpet discards
one single color lost soul site
Purple
-
King's Daughter has access
to any site
-
Pharaoh's Daughter has
access to Egypt and Pharaoh's Prison
-
James (half-brother of
Jesus) has access to Jerusalem site
-
King David can use Promised
Land without limit
-
Crushing Blow gives a hero
access to any site until hero is discarded
-
Break Down the Wall of Gath
discards a single color lost soul site.
-
God's Generosity gets
Promised Land from draw pile or discard pile
White
-
War Officer has access to
any site, and gives you another soul to rescue if he is defeated.
-
Isaac can use Promised Land
without limit
-
Isaac can use Jacob's Dream
-
Destruction of Babylon
discards a single color lost soul site and all evil cards guarding it.
-
Moses and Elders allows you
to take War Officer from your discard pile, if he ever makes it there.
Silver
-
Angel in the Path has
access to any site
-
Angel at Jerusalem has
access to any site
-
Angel of Deliverance has
access to any site
-
Liberating Angel has access
to any site where a Lost Soul is held prisoner
-
Destroying Angel discards a
site with a Genesis reference (Sodom, Pit of Dothan, or Pharaoh's
Prison)
-
Deliverance releases a hero
held in a site with "Prison" in the title to owner's
territory
Silver and Purple dominate the
site access category, but that makes sense. Angels and royalty can
go pretty much wherever they want. Red is weakest, so load up on
access sites if you use red by itself.
