At dawn one day, Jesus sat in the temple courts teaching.
Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery and told Jesus that
the law of Moses said that they should stone such women. They asked
Jesus what he would say in order to trap him. The Romans did not
allow the Jews to carry out the death sentence, so if Jesus said to stone
her, He would have violated Roman law. But if he said she did not
deserve to be stoned, he would have violated Moses' law. Jesus wrote something
