In Jerusalem, near the Sheep Gate, was a pool called
Bethesda. Disabled people would wait by that pool, watching for the
stirring of the water. It was believed that an Angel of the Lord
would occasionally come to stir the water, and that the first one into the
pool while the angel was stirring the water would be healed of
whatever disease they had. Jesus visited this pool and healed a
paralyzed man there. |
