At this time, Jeremiah was continuing to prophesy in Judah.  He prophesied the lamentation of Rachel, the time when Herod would order the murder of all the male infants in Bethlehem and its vicinity.  Remember that Rachel was the mother of Joseph and Benjamin, and her descendants would include many in Israel.
