God sent the prophet Nathan to tell David to repent for
what he had done, and to tell David that two bad things would happen in
David's family as punishment for this sin: the son born to David and
Bathsheba would die, and that someone close to David would take his wives
and commit adultery with them in broad daylight. Through the truthfulness of Nathan,
God warned David that, as always, there were going to be consequences for
his sin. |
