II Samuel 2:18

Saul's only surviving son tried to take the throne.  He was supported by Saul's nephew and military commander, Abner.  Abner's men fought with David's men.  David had many valiant warriors under his command.  Three of the key warriors were brothers named Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.  Asahel was very fast, and tried to chase down Abner.
